Hudson Music has shared a video providing an exclusive glimpse into the late Neil Peart's drum set assembly and pre-show warmup at a Rush live concert. This footage, drawn from archival material, highlights Peart's meticulous approach to live performance.
The video is part of a broader release titled Taking Center Stage, which includes a comprehensive book and instructional materials. The book features detailed musical transcriptions of 17 classic Rush songs, alongside historical context and analysis of Peart's drumming techniques and equipment setups across various tours from 1975 onward.
In addition to the book, the Taking Center Stage video showcases Peart's live performances and in-depth breakdowns of his drum parts. Filmed during Rush’s 2010-2011 Time Machine Tour, it covers rehearsal sessions, backstage preparations, soundchecks, and detailed explanations of drum grooves with both full-speed and slow-motion demonstrations.
The package also includes bonus content such as additional live footage from earlier tours, an educational segment on the song 'Bravado,' and interviews with Peart's drum technician. This release aims to provide fans and drummers alike with a thorough understanding of Peart's artistry and legacy.
