Corrosion of Conformity Reveals Nick Shabatura as New Drummer
Heavy rock icons Corrosion of Conformity have officially ended the speculation regarding their lineup, announcing Nick Shabatura as the band's new drummer. Shabatura steps into the role following the departure of Reed Mullin, who passed away in 2020, and the subsequent tenures of various touring drummers.
The North Carolina-based legends—consisting of Pepper Keenan, Woody Weatherman, and Mike Dean—shared the news via social media, expressing their excitement for this new chapter. Shabatura, known for his powerful technique and deep roots in the heavy music scene, has already begun working with the band as they prepare for upcoming live dates and a highly anticipated new studio album.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nick into the C.O.C. family," the band stated. "His energy and respect for the foundations of this band made him the perfect fit. We’ve been jamming behind the scenes, and the chemistry is undeniable. It’s time to get back to work."
Shabatura also voiced his enthusiasm for joining the "Deliverance" and "Wiseblood" creators. "Joining Corrosion of Conformity is a dream come true," he said. "I’ve been a fan of their unique blend of sludge, punk, and southern rock for years. I’m honored to help carry the torch and can't wait to hit the road with these guys."
The announcement comes as the band continues to work on the follow-up to 2018’s No Cross No Crown. While a specific release date for the new record hasn't been set, the addition of a permanent drummer signals that the band is ramping up production.
Fans can expect to see the new lineup in action during the band’s 2026 tour cycle, where they are expected to perform a mix of career-defining classics and potentially debut new material.
