Due to overwhelming demand for their "Life Burns Faster" production, Metallica has significantly expanded their upcoming residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The band has added 10 additional dates across February and March 2027, bringing the current total for the residency to 24 shows.

The residency continues the band's "No Repeat Weekend" tradition, with different setlists for each Thursday and Saturday performance, ensuring fans attending both nights hear a completely unique show.
Newly Added 2027 Dates:

February: 4 & 6, 18 & 20, 25 & 27

March: 4 & 6, 11 & 13

These join the previously announced dates in October/November 2026 and January 2027.
Ticketing Controversy and Technical Issues

While the residency is one of the most anticipated live events of 2027, the initial ticket rollout has faced significant hurdles:

Pricing Outcry: Fans have expressed frustration over reported ticket prices, which range from $700 to $800 for single-night tickets and climb as high as $3,000 for VIP and multi-night packages.

Cyberattacks: Ticketmaster reported a "targeted attack" by bad actors attempting to bypass security systems during the Wednesday presale, which forced the company to pause and slow queues, causing delays for many fans.

Scam Warnings: Metallica issued a public warning on social media, urging fans to be wary of fraudulent offers and inflated prices from third-party scammers, directing them to use only official partners like Ticketmaster and Superfan Live.

Immersive Technology

The "Life Burns Faster" show is designed to utilize the Sphere’s world-class technology, including the highest-resolution LED screen on Earth and immersive 4D sensory effects. Drummer Lars Ulrich expressed his excitement for the venture, noting that seeing U2 at the venue convinced him Metallica "had to do this" to reinvent their fan interaction.
