Presence makes their presence known

By Erin Fox

Florida-based foursome (Tallahassee) is gearing up for the Jan. 31, 2006 release of PRESENCE, their 2nd album on Curb Records. Together since the late ‘90s, when they began burning through hometown clubs, PRESENCE has arrived with a sound that cleverly embraces hooks and melodies while confronting the listener with potent urgency and raw emotion.

"Ride," the first single, is a fist-pumping anthem that's been added to more than a dozen stations nationwide in its 2nd week at active rock radio.

PRESENCE is on a U.S. fall tour with The Accident Experiment - Marcos Curiel's (ex P.O.D.) current project - bringing the band to a ton of cities they have never played before.

Media scribes have been quick to pick up on PRESENCE. Already, Billboard has scheduled a new review of the "Ride" single. On their Curb debut, Revolver noted PRESENCE's "layered vocal attack and explosive dynamics," and Metal Edge raved over their "blustering groove, bombastic beats, and lyrical flow," calling PRESENCE "the most convincing band of their ilk in years." Their shows inspire especially rapturous reviews, epitomized by the University of Wisconsin's Badger Herald's simple admonition: "If you have a chance to see these guys live, do not hesitate." And finally, said Hit Parader: "They're exactly what the rock world needs right now - a band with a strong sense of self and an equally strong sense of style."

In early November, PRESENCE will be going into studio in L.A. with producer Michael Lloyd to record acoustic versions of some tracks from the new album, spurred by the wonderful reception they've gotten when played acoustically by the band during promotional radio station visits.
