BEHEMOTH Releases Music Video For 'Nomen Barbarvm'

BEHEMOTH unveils a visually striking music video for "Nomen Barbarvm" from their album "The Shit Ov God."

Polish extreme metal band BEHEMOTH has debuted a music video for their song "Nomen Barbarvm," which is featured on their most recent album, "The Shit Ov God." The video, directed by Dariusz Szermanowiczr, showcases intense, apocalyptic imagery with occult symbolism and a subversion of religious themes that are central to the band's artistic identity.

The production employs dramatic lighting, intricate costumes, and special effects to deliver a dark and epic visual narrative. The video was created in collaboration with Group 13 and highlights BEHEMOTH's commitment to uncompromising artistic quality.

Frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski described the track lyrically as rooted in the concept of self-expression and will, noting that it is one of the most melodic yet groove-oriented songs they have produced. The band intends to perform "Nomen Barbarvm" live during their upcoming tour.

"The Shit Ov God" was released in May 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records and was produced by Jens Bogren, who helped balance the band’s natural sound with its inherent intensity. The album’s visuals, including the cover art, were carefully crafted by longtime collaborators Bartek Rogalewicz and Dark Sigil Workshop.

In an interview, Nergal discussed the challenges of evolving their sound and artistic approach while touching on the philosophical depth behind the album’s provocative title. He emphasized that the title and the music are meant to challenge listeners and provoke deeper reflection rather than serve as mere shock value.
