Alestorm Frontman Tells The Gauntlet To "Fuck Off!"
In a recent interview with Alestorm frontman Chris Bowes, The Gauntlet began to chide the singer for playing what amounts to a kids toy on stage.
We asked - "Why aren't there more keytar players?" To which Chris responded "We just played some shows in Australia with a band Voyager and their singer plays the keytar. It was quite cool seeing another guy doing the same thing as me. We had a solo duel that was the gayest thing I ever did in my life."
Like all types of depression and conditions, we wondered if there were any support groups for suicidal keytarists as they seem like they'd be a sad bunch. Chris began laughing then exclaimed "Fuck Off! It does sound like a worthy cause though."
We weren't going to let that exchange stop us and we soldiered on with "Was it hard finding a company besides Fisher-Price that made a keytar?" Chris took another sip from his Singapore Sling and proclaimed "Oh man! There are lots of companies that make them, big companies in the music gear business. It is a real instrument."
From here, we had to know what parents could do to keep their kids off the keytar? Chris stated "A lot of people at the shows ask me about it. They think it's a cool instrument."
Alestorm is getting ready to storm the U.S. with Kamelot. The band just released a new album on Napalm Records titled "Back Through Time".
