Former Drowning Pool Vocalist Jasen Moreno Debuts New Project Death Star Paparazzi with Single "The Antique Nerve"
Jasen Moreno, the long-standing former frontman of Drowning Pool, has officially resurfaced with a brand-new musical endeavor titled Death Star Paparazzi. The band made its grand entrance this morning with the release of their debut single, "The Antique Nerve." This project marks Moreno’s first major creative outing since his departure from Drowning Pool, seeing him take on a dual role as both the lead vocalist and bassist.
Death Star Paparazzi features a power-trio lineup that brings together seasoned talent from the Texas rock scene. Joining Moreno are guitarist Adam Nañez and drummer Ian Zeuss. According to the band, the project was born out of a deep-seated "musical brotherhood," aiming to blend aggressive rock textures with the melodic sensibilities Moreno has become known for over the last decade.
"The Antique Nerve" serves as an introductory manifesto for the band's sound—a gritty, high-energy track that balances heavy riffs with Moreno's signature vocal grit. While the single is currently a standalone release, the band has hinted that more music is already in the pipeline, with plans for a full-length release and live dates later in 2026. Fans of Moreno's work will find a familiar power in his performance, though the new trio format offers a raw, stripped-back intensity distinct from his previous work.
