Shudder Unleashes 'V/H/S/MIXTAPE': A Sonic Assault of Horror

Get ready to brace yourselves, metalheads, because Shudder is cranking the horror dial all the way up to eleven with the impending release of 'V/H/S/MIXTAPE'. This ninth installment of the infamous franchise spins a dark web of music and horror, blending the visceral power of sound with the sinister elements that haunt our nightmares. With a spine-chilling premise that explores how audio can possess and destroy, this film promises to deliver an unforgettable mixtape of terror that reverberates deep within your soul.

Directed by a powerhouse lineup of cinematic visionaries—including the legendary Ernest Dickerson, hip-hop heavyweight RZA, and the innovative David Moreau—'V/H/S/MIXTAPE' is not just a movie; it’s a harmonious descent into chaos. Acclaimed filmmaker Renee Zhan adds her own twisted flair with original puppets crafted by none other than Jim Henson's Creature Shop, creating a grotesque spectacle that blurs the lines between reality and the surreal.

But that’s not all! The film also features music video interludes helmed by the genre-defying Flying Lotus, alongside a debut music video from GHOST’s very own Tobias Forge, solidifying this anthology as a groundbreaking fusion of horror and sound. To top it off, shock-metal legends GWAR make an appearance, further amplifying the film's celebration of all things horrifying and heavy.

As if the anticipation couldn't get any more intense, 'V/H/S/MIXTAPE' follows the record-shattering success of its predecessor, 'V/H/S/HALLOWEEN', which dominated screens as Shudder's most-watched exclusive film premiere of 2025. This latest offering is set to stream on Shudder starting October 9, 2026, continuing the franchise's legacy of gripping storytelling and visceral thrills.

Shudder stands tall as the sanctuary for horror aficionados, boasting an unparalleled collection of films and series that push the boundaries of the genre. With an impressive catalog that includes original works and fan-favorite shows, Shudder remains the ultimate destination for those seeking to immerse themselves in the darkest corners of cinema.
