Slipknot's frontman delivers a wild two-hour performance, blending nostalgia and metal classics.

In a night where the unexpected met the iconic, Corey Taylor, the thunderous voice of SLIPKNOT, took to the stage at Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas on October 18 for an intimate acoustic concert that left fans reeling. Kicking off the two-hour set with a cheeky rendition of the 'SpongeBob SquarePants' theme, Taylor reminded us all that even the darkest metal hearts can embrace their inner child.

As the set rolled on, attendees were treated to a masterclass in rock and metal covers, featuring tracks that shaped the landscape of the genre. From KISS's love-infused anthem 'Dr. Love' to the electrifying 'Crazy Train' by Ozzy Osbourne, Taylor’s choices were a nostalgic nod that struck the perfect balance between reverence and reinvention. He also unleashed Elton John's 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting', JUDAS PRIEST's powerhouse 'You've Got Another Thing Comin'', and the Foo Fighters' emotional 'Everlong', sending the crowd into a frenzy with Night Ranger's 'Don't Tell Me You Love Me' rounding out the evening.

This marked Taylor's first acoustic solo performance in over three years, a notable return since his last notable stint at HorrorHound Weekend in March 2025. Following that, he took the stage at Spookala in Tampa, proving that the frontman thrives both in the mosh pits and in acoustic settings.

Fans craving more of Taylor’s artistry were treated to his recent solo album, 'CMF2B… Or Not 2B', a collection of covers and B-sides from the 'CMF2' sessions that hit digital platforms in May 2024. This effort followed his sophomore solo album 'CMF2', which dropped in September 2023 and showcased his evolution as a musician under BMG, produced by the legendary Jay Ruston.

However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the metal icon. Earlier this year, Taylor faced serious mental health challenges, prompting him to cancel his North American solo tour. He openly shared with Alternative Press that he reached a 'dark point,' leading to a much-needed reevaluation of his life and career. He’s now committed to prioritizing family and well-being over relentless touring.

As if that wasn't enough, SLIPKNOT is gearing up for an unprecedented global stadium tour in 2027, further solidifying their status as metal titans. With BRING ME THE HORIZON set to open the North American leg, this tour promises to be an epic spectacle, featuring a rotating cast of supporting acts that include LAMB OF GOD and MOTIONLESS IN WHITE, elevating the anticipation to fever pitch.
