Watch: STEVE 'ZETRO' SOUZA Performs EXODUS And TESTAMENT Classics In San Francisco

Steve 'Zetro' Souza performed classic thrash metal songs from EXODUS and TESTAMENT at a San Francisco concert.

Steve 'Zetro' Souza, former vocalist for EXODUS, held a concert on January 26, 2026, at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. During the performance, he presented a mix of classic EXODUS deep cuts and tracks from his time with LEGACY, the early incarnation of TESTAMENT, alongside songs from TESTAMENT themselves. The concert marked one of Souza's first solo band appearances in the Bay Area.

Souza assembled a backing band featuring musicians from other metal groups, including Zakk Frye and Kyle Smith of SLIKK WIKKED on guitars, Andrew Dewar on drums, and Donny 'Death' Weissinger on bass. The setlist was curated to include rarely played songs as well as fan favorites like 'Toxic Waltz' and 'Blacklist'. Souza expressed his intent to focus on performing lesser-known tracks before considering new solo material later on.

This event follows Souza's departure from EXODUS earlier in 2024, a decision he described as being let go rather than a voluntary exit. Having been part of EXODUS on and off since 1986, Souza cited personal reasons and changing priorities, especially his desire to spend more time with family, as motivations for stepping away from the demanding touring lifestyle.

Looking ahead, Souza plans a three-date tour in Australia scheduled for early February 2026. His previously planned Latin American tour for September 2025 was canceled by promoters. Despite these changes, Souza remains active in the thrash metal scene, keeping his legacy alive through his solo performances and engagement with longtime fans.
