Phendrana is a Post-Black Metal band from Mexico City. It was formed by Anuar Salum in 2012, when he was 12 years old.
Phendrana is a Post-Black Metal band from Mexico City. It was formed by Anuar Salum in 2012, when he was 12 years old. He recorded 2 demos and played some shows, sharing stages with bands like Alcest, Gehenna and Nader Sadek, before taking the project into a whole new direction in 2016 by changing the band's main focus and concept, incorporating atmospheric and progressive elements to his music, and eventually changing the name to “Phendranaâ€.
In October 2016, Phendrana signed to Sickness Records for a one album deal and began recording the debut album “Sanctum: Sic Transit Gloria Mundiâ€, which was finished in December, 2017 and soon to be released in January 8, 2018.

Album Background:
It is a conceptual album about a Sanctum, an ethereal place where lost souls find shelter. The album is divided in 7 parts: A description of the Sanctum, 3 transitions from different souls to it, 2 stories about the past lives of Sanctum inhabitants, and an ode to the night.
Recorded between October 2016-November 2017.
