UNDER THREAT release "The Prison Within"
On his fifth album, Under Threat reiterates their trademarked sound, Death Metal that combines with masterful precision aggressive rhythms, melodic structures on guitars and fluid leads, sustained on a bass that strikes incessantly alongside the ever-outstanding drums execution.
The cover artwork created again by Niklas Sundin, goes away from the genre parameters with a graphic concept that complement the musical aesthetics proposed in the album and places the listener on the lyrical approach. A complement to wrap this piece of metal in which the aggressiveness and melody go hand by hand. Under Threat was formed in Bogotá (Colombia) in 1997 by Nicolás Bermudez (guitars), David Bermudez (bass), Alejandro Rojas (drums) and John Perez (vocals), under the first moniker Sculptor, but soon was changed to Under Threat and released his debut album “Hipostasis” on 1999. Around 2001 the band moved to US and on this time released their second full length “Behind Mankind's Disguise” and their high acclaimed “Deathmosphere”, the album that defined the band sound.
Just a few months after this release, Bermudez brothers joined Blaze Bayley’s band and started touring worldwide, so it became a full time job and Under Threat entered on hold. In 2011 the whole band finally gets reunited in their native Colombia, Nicolás takes vocal duties and as a trio released in 2012 the video clip single “Nación por Cárcel” and the next year their third album “The Manifested Void” (2013). Under Threat start working on new songs meanwhile a local re-release of their second album is done. Finally in 2016 the band returns to HateWorks to release their fifth album “The Prison Within”.
