CLOVEN HOOF Unleashes New Album: 'Never A Prophet In Your Own Land'

The NWOBHM titans return with a versatile metal masterpiece set to drop in 2026.

Brace yourselves, metalheads! The legendary CLOVEN HOOF are set to unleash their tenth studio album, aptly titled Never A Prophet In Your Own Land, on September 25, 2026, through High Roller Records. This new offering promises to be a sonic journey, featuring a dynamic mix of mid-tempo anthems, lightning-fast tracks, and epic compositions, all wrapped in the classic heavy metal sound that fans have come to revere. CLOVEN HOOF’s frontman Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin, who has been belting out vocals for the band for the past three and a half years, delivers yet another world-class performance that fans are bound to rave about. Bassist Lee Payne paid tribute to Conklin’s talent, stating, “The praise is all Harry's. We are indeed fortunate to have such a brilliant vocalist and frontman in the band.”

Payne elaborated that Never A Prophet In Your Own Land isn’t merely a continuation of their previous album, Heathen Cross. While the latter had a dark and brooding atmosphere, the new album resonates more closely with A Sultan's Ransom—a resemblance that, according to Payne, happened organically rather than by design.

With ambitious aspirations, CLOVEN HOOF aimed to create an album that showcases their musical evolution. “We wanted to make this album as rich and varied as we could, to show how far the band has progressed musically,” Payne commented. He added, “This album has everything you could wish for in the heavy metal genre. It shows our versatility in a way that A Sultan's Ransom did eclectically but takes it one step further.”

Since their inception in 1979 as NIGHTSTALKER, and subsequent rebranding to CLOVEN HOOF in 1981, the band has been a hallmark of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) movement. With a discography that spans over four decades, each release has solidified their status as one of the movement's most influential acts. Following a brief hiatus in the 1990s, the band returned with a vengeance and has continued to tour, bringing their iconic sound to new generations of metal fans.
