SKINLAB and re:IGNITION CONFIRMED FOR MILWAUKEE METAL FEST XIX

By jason

Oakland, California. Bay Area Metal favorites SKINLAB have announced that they will officially hit the road in May following a three year hiatus, including a stop at Milwaukee Metalfest XIX, May 11 and 12 at the Waukesha Expo Center in Waukesha, WI.

Bassist/Vocalist Steev Esquivel says "We've played the Metalfest several times, and it's always been a great experience. We're stoked for the chance to come back and tear it up again for our fans and friends in Milwaukee."

Also on the bill - performing on the Corporate Punishment Records second stage - will be RE:IGNITION, featuring in its ranks Skinlab's Steev Esquivel and "Snake" Green, and former Vio-lence drummer Mark Hernandez, rounding out the lineup of the stage already set to feature performances by Canadian thrashers 3 Mile Scream and Mastery, Broken Teeth (featuring Jason McMaster of Dangerous Toys/Watchtower), Years of Fire (ex- Chimaira/Shenoah/Ringworm), and Pain Principle.

Skinlab formed in the Bay Area in 1994 and released their landmark debut Bound, Gagged, and Blindfolded in 1996 on Century Media (who would also release 1998's Eyesore EP, 1999's Disembody: The New Flesh, 2002's The Revolting Room, and the 2004 B-Sides and Rarities collection Nerve Damage), kicking off a monstrous 10 year career with a highlight reel including tours with Napalm Death, S.O.D., Hatebreed, Arch Enemy, Superjoint Ritual, Machine Head, Slayer, and 2 appearances at Holland's legendary Dynamo Festival.

The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2003, with members working on various projects including Re:Ignition and The Miserables (featuring Skinlab guitarist Glen Telford), with Steev Esquivel even taking on a brief stint as lead vocalist for thrash legends Exodus, supporting Megadeth for 2 months on their "Blackmail The Universe" Tour.

The recently reunited Skinlab have begun work on their upcoming fifth studio release, which will be released later this year on an as yet undetermined label, all of which the band revealed in a recent video update posted on myspace that you can view here:
