MYRKUR Shares New Single “Touch My Love And Die”

Myrkur shares the haunting new single 'Touch My Love And Die' for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026.

Myrkur, the musical project of Amalie Bruun, has unveiled a new single called "Touch My Love And Die" as her contribution to the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026. Known for melding Scandinavian folk, black metal, and cinematic scores, Myrkur creates an immersive and ritualistic listening experience. This latest track reflects her ongoing exploration of darkness and light within her music.

The single is a cinematic and atmospheric ballad, featuring an elaborate arrangement recorded in Dolby Atmos with live instruments including cello, ancient folk instruments, and a girls' choir. The sound embodies a blend of metal and Nordic folk sensibilities combined with film score elements, presenting a deeply human and physical audio experience.

Lyrically, the song delves into supernatural and gothic themes, portraying love as both a source of release and a forewarning, allowing room for personal interpretation. Myrkur describes this release as an embodiment of significant personal and artistic transformation over the past year.

Recorded in Winter 2025 with producer Christopher Juul, the single showcases a refined sound that aligns with Myrkur's distinct artistic universe, building upon her previous albums and soundtrack work for productions like Netflix's Vikings: Valhalla. "Touch My Love And Die" aims to challenge the cultural climate dominated by artificiality and offer a connection to human heritage and emotional depth.

The song will compete to represent Denmark in Eurovision 2026, scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria. Myrkur's entry stands out for its refusal to conform, instead inviting listeners into a space where darkness can illuminate and transform.
