Blood Of The Earth Unleashes Monstrous Cover of Ministry's 'Filth Pig'

Prepare for a sonic onslaught as Blood Of The Earth reimagines a classic with their sludge-infused rendition.

In a thunderous announcement that has sent ripples through the metal underground, Blood Of The Earth has unleashed their visceral interpretation of Ministry’s 1996 anthem, "Filth Pig." This track serves as the second single from their highly anticipated EP, Beneath A Sky That Breaks, which is set to drop independently on October 23rd.

Originally a cornerstone of Ministry’s groundbreaking sound, the trio of Jeff Golden (Crowbar), Katie Golden (The Convalescence), and J. Costa (Thy Will Be Done) has taken "Filth Pig" to a new abyssal depth. Their rendition drags the song through the mire of sludge and post-metal, enveloping its hypnotic groove with earth-shattering guitars, industrial grit, and an atmosphere thick enough to suffocate.

Vocalist J. Costa expressed his long-standing admiration for the original, stating, “There’s a real sludge song buried in there that I think has flown under the radar, and we wanted to give it our own nod.” The track features group vocals from industry veterans Afzaal Nasiruddeen (Crisis, Masters Ashes) and Glen Ellis, connecting the dots between the storied Chicago scene and Blood Of The Earth’s grim vision.

Recorded with the formidable Ryan Boesch (Melvins, Whores), Beneath A Sky That Breaks promises an experimental journey that stretches the limits of heaviness. The EP boasts five tracks where colossal riffs clash with electronic elements and unsettling ambiance, enhancing the impact of its most thunderous moments.

Following the release of their original track "Petrichor," "Filth Pig" offers another glimpse into the diverse soundscape that fans can expect. The EP’s tracklisting is as follows: "Beneath A Sky That Breaks," "The Constellation," "Barren Oasis," "Petrichor," and the notorious Ministry cover, "Filth Pig." Pre-orders are now live for those ready to dive into this murky sonic abyss.

Catch Blood Of The Earth on their upcoming tour, hitting cities like Wallingford, CT, and Tampa, FL, where they’ll be sharing the stage with heavyweights such as Novembers Doom. Don't miss out on witnessing this powerhouse trio redefine the essence of metal.
