HAMMERFALL'S GUITARIST SPEAKS OUT ON UPCOMING ALBUM

By Will OConnor

A Sunday update on the recent activity surrounding HAMMERFALL's new album from guitarist Oscar Dronjak:

"[Producer] Charlie's [Bauerfeind] got amazingly good ears, nothing escapes them. Today, Anders [Johansson, drums] must have had his magic shoes on or something because he finished two songs before three o'clock in the afternoon! Anyway, Anders nailed [the ballad of the album] in the first take. Even the improvised ritardando (gradually delaying the tempo) ending was perfect!

Next up was 'Genocide,' another triplet song and also Stefan's [Elgrem, guitarist] first contribution to the record. He composed all of the music, and it's really cool with fast triplets going through the entire four minutes and forty-three seconds. Sweden was playing Slovakia [in ice hockey] tonight. Turned out to be a crap game with the Swedes not only losing, but playing way below their ability. So I challenged Charlie to a table tennis battle, which I naturally won. So now, he has to call me 'The Champ' and whenever I enter the room he has to yell out 'The Champ...is....here!' Haha!"
