NILE's Karl Sanders Unleashes Hordes of Metal on Upcoming Album
In a recent chat with Rev. Tom Brice on Sportzwire Radio, NILE's fearless leader, guitarist, and vocalist Karl Sanders, pulled back the curtain on the band's latest songwriting endeavors for the highly anticipated follow-up to 2024's 'The Underworld Awaits Us All.' The metal gods are hard at work, with Sanders revealing that they are currently churning out song number six in an exhilarating session fueled by passion and camaraderie. 'Things are humming along,' he said, his voice dripping with excitement. 'This new lineup is just on fire. It's probably unfair how much fun we're having. We're making metal, and life is good.'
But why the painstaking wait for new music? Sanders addressed the elephant in the room, emphasizing the importance of getting it right after a storied career of ten albums. 'There have been times when we faced deadlines and had to make choices that we’ve lived with for the rest of our lives,' he explained. 'These are the little details that can haunt you. It's better to take your time and get it right, because if you don’t, not just us, but the fans have to carry that burden.'
The winds of change blew through NILE recently, with the departure of bassist Dan Vadim Von and the arrival of Adam Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger, a former member of VITRIOL, made waves with his live debut alongside NILE on September 12, 2025, setting the stage ablaze as they kicked off their U.S. tour with extreme metal juggernauts CRYPTOPSY in Raleigh, North Carolina. His addition is already stirring excitement among die-hard fans eager to witness the evolution of this legendary band.
As for the band's last album, 'The Underworld Awaits Us All,' released in August 2024 via Napalm Records, it showcased the formidable talents of founding member Karl Sanders, drumming powerhouse George Kollias, and the dynamic duo of vocalists/guitarists Brian Kingsland and Zach Jeter. Recorded at Sanders's Serpent Headed Studios, the album was given the high-octane treatment by renowned engineer Mark Lewis, ensuring that every note and groove resonates with the ferocity that fans crave.
But the saga doesn’t end here. Next March and April, NILE will embark on a co-headlining tour with the legendary CORONER, supported by the up-and-coming SYN ABSENCE. Kicking off on March 2, 2027, in Greenville, South Carolina, and wrapping up on April 11, 2027, in Leesburg, Virginia, this trek promises to be a brutal celebration of metal that no fan will want to miss.
