The legendary Sexecutioner departs, leaving behind a legacy steeped in chaos and creativity.

In a heart-wrenching blow to the metal community, GWAR has announced the passing of one of its founding members, Chuck Varga, who succumbed to cancer at the age of 68. The band took to social media on September 27 to express their sorrow, stating, "There are some losses that hit harder than others." With Varga's departure, GWAR not only lost a member but a pivotal architect of its grotesque and glorious mythology.

As the unforgettable Sexecutioner, Varga was instrumental in crafting the theatrical chaos that has become synonymous with GWAR's identity. His contributions transcended mere performance; he was a visual artist whose grotesque illustrations and outlandish costume designs helped establish the band’s distinct aesthetic. Varga's legacy is interwoven with the very fabric of GWAR's existence, having been there since the inception when the band was but a fledgling act struggling to define itself.

In a poignant tribute, GWAR's bassist Casey Orr, known as Beefcake The Mighty, shared the news of Varga’s passing, revealing that he left this world with his wife Bambi at his side.
