In a thunderous shake-up of the Florida and Georgia metal scene, IRON MAIDEN's legendary drummer Nicko McBrain has unleashed his new project, TITANIUM TART, kicking off the tour on August 29 at The Barn in Sanford, Florida. TITANIUM TART is not stopping in Fort Lauderdale; the tour continues to heat up with stops at The Albatross in Jacksonville on September 11, Center Stage Loft in Atlanta on September 13, and OCC Roadhouse in Clearwater on September 19. Each show promises to be a celebration of metal's rich legacy, with Nicko at the helm, driving the rhythm that has defined generations.

In a candid chat with Rock Of Nations, McBrain opened up about his bittersweet decision to retire from touring with IRON MAIDEN. The now-74-year-old drummer, whose real name is Michael Henry McBrain, made waves when he announced that his last performance with the metal giants would take place on December 7, 2024, in São Paulo, Brazil. Reflecting on his journey, Nicko revealed that the thought of retirement had lingered since the making of the 'Senjutsu' album, and the pandemic only accelerated those feelings.

“It was a hard decision, but one I had been contemplating for years,” McBrain shared. “After 42 years in the band, it was time to think about my health and the future of the group. I didn’t want to be a burden on the guys.” With honesty that cuts like a razor, he emphasized the physical toll of their high-octane performances and the necessity for rest and family time as they all grow older.

As whispers of other band members contemplating retirement swirl, Nicko remains optimistic about the future of IRON MAIDEN. “I think they still have a few chapters left,” he mused, hinting at the enduring legacy that the band continues to build.
