In a triumphant homage to the Prince of Darkness, Hellfest pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with a towering six-meter statue.

Hellfest, the mecca of metal madness, has once again solidified its status as the ultimate tribute to heavy music by unveiling a colossal six-meter statue of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. This monumental work, crafted by the French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua, stands proudly at the entrance of the festival, welcoming hordes of metalheads from across the globe. With Hellfest running from June 18 to June 21, this year's edition promises to be unforgettable.

Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's steadfast partner and manager, shared her heartfelt sentiments via social media, expressing her regrets at missing the grand unveiling due to an unexpected hospital visit. "I'm sorry I couldn't be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy's statue," she lamented. Her gratitude was palpable as she thanked the festival organizers and the artist for this stunning tribute to her husband, whose legacy as the Prince of Darkness continues to inspire generations.

Last year, Hellfest honored another titan of rock, unveiling a new statue of Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, the indomitable leader of MÖTÖRHEAD, whose previous likeness had succumbed to the ravages of time. Created by emerging sculptor Caroline Brisset, the new Lemmy statue captures the raw energy and spirit of the rock icon, symbolizing the festival's commitment to preserving the legacies of heavy music's greatest figures.

In a bittersweet twist, Ozzy's own death certificate revealed the singer's passing on July 22, 2025, due to a heart attack, a fate that has left a gaping void in the world of metal. His private funeral in Buckinghamshire was attended by a select few from the metal elite, including the original BLACK SABBATH lineup, METALLICA's Robert Trujillo, and luminaries like Rob Zombie and Corey Taylor. Even in death, Ozzy inspired an outpouring of love from fans, with thousands gathering in Birmingham to pay their respects.

In what would be his final performance, Ozzy reunited with BLACK SABBATH's original members for the "Back To The Beginning" charity concert, a poignant moment that showcased his enduring spirit. Seated on a black throne, he delivered a heart-wrenching set, baring his soul to the crowd with classics like "Iron Man" and "Crazy Train." As he looked out at the sea of devoted fans, he expressed his gratitude, reminding us all that the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne is as powerful as ever.
