QUEENSRŸCHE guitarist Michael Wilton has shared updates on the band's work on the follow-up to 2022's "Digital Noise Alliance." Collaborating closely with guitarist Mike Stone and producer Zeuss, the band is in the dual phases of songwriting and early recording, currently developing around thirteen song ideas.
Wilton emphasized that the new material will continue to embrace the band's progressive, melodic, and heavy metal roots while also experimenting with different elements to offer a distinct sound from their previous releases. The group is focusing on creating an album that stands out by pushing boundaries without aiming for mainstream radio appeal.
Wilton praised his songwriting partnership with Stone, highlighting how their collaborative approach leads to complementary guitar parts and a cohesive overall sound, which they refer to as the "RŸCHE-ian" style. The long-standing relationship with Zeuss remains integral, with the producer involved in multiple past projects and continuing to shape the band's recording process.
In addition to Wilton's remarks, lead vocalist Todd La Torre mentioned a desire to incorporate more clean guitar tones, orchestration, and unique percussion on the upcoming release, while acknowledging the band's core style remains consistent after four decades of evolution.
QUEENSRŸCHE also announced a European tour for the summer, featuring both headline shows and festival appearances, with dates running from early June to early July.
