Atomic Rooster Joins the Metal Thunder at Time To Rock 2027!

Metalheads, mark your calendars! The 2027 edition of Sweden’s Time To Rock festival is locked in and ready to unleash hell from July 9-12 in the gritty town of Knislinge. This four-day extravaganza promises a metal feast with multiple stages and a ferocious lineup of around 50 acts, solidifying its reputation as a mecca for rock and metal aficionados.

Among the confirmed acts, the return of Atomic Rooster is sending shockwaves through the scene. These British legends, birthed from the ashes of The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, embody the dark, heavy, and adventurous spirit that defined early British hard rock. Their music is a swirling tempest of thunderous rhythms and haunting Hammond organ melodies that demand to be experienced live.

Atomic Rooster emerged in 1969, crafted by the genius of keyboardist Vincent Crane, and they quickly made their mark in the realm of progressive rock, hard rock, and heavy metal. With a distinctive sound that intertwines eerie atmospheres with blues-infused guitar work, their classic album 'Death Walks Behind You' remains a cornerstone of heavy music history. Tracks like “Tomorrow Night” and “Devil’s Answer” showcase their ability to bridge the gap between the underground scene of the '60s and the heavier sounds that would dominate the '70s.

Fast forward to today, and Atomic Rooster is still kicking ass on stage, with guitarist Steve Bolton as the sole original member. They unleashed a stellar album, 'Circle The Sun,' in 2025, their first since 1983, proving that the spirit of experimentation and heavy riffs lives on. Their live performances are nothing short of a sonic pilgrimage, transporting fans to an era where music was raw, unfiltered, and full of unbridled creativity.

So, for those who crave the thunder of a Hammond organ and the grit of classic British hard rock, the Time To Rock festival is the place to be. Get ready to welcome Atomic Rooster and a killer lineup that includes Pretty Maids, Therion, and more. This is a festival that promises not just sound, but a full-throttle experience that will resonate in your bones long after the last note fades.
