Yakuza releases 'Samsara,' prepares for hometown record release show and tour

Chicago's progressively innovative Yakuza, is gearing up for the band's record release show for its Prosthetic debut, Samsara, which hits stores today, March 21 to much critical acclaim. The band's record release show will be this Saturday, March 25 at Chicago's Beat Kitchen to kick off the band's tour with Metal Blade Records' 3. Later, the band will meet up with Losa for more US touring through the late-Spring and summer.

Samsara was recorded by Matt Bayles (Isis, Minus The Bear). Recently, Yakuza's Bruce Lamont (vocals, sax) commented on the pairing: "The recording process was simply amazing," he says of the album. "We locked ourselves in a couple of different studios for a few weeks; 12-12 every day. We have never had this much time and of course we felt it still wasn't enough. This record is the next logical place for Yakuza. I feel that it flows like it was intended to, and Bayles played a big part in that. Working with Matt was a real pleasure. We were looking for some sonic continuity since we were gonna be moving around abit more stylistically. He pulled it off beautifully."

Samsara is the follow-up to 2002's richly-applauded Way of the Dead, and features guest spots from accredited musicians Jim Baker, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Sanford Parker, and Mastodon's Troy Sanders among the album's ten tracks.
