The gods of post-metal, NEUROSIS, have risen from the ashes for their first live performance in seven long years, unleashing their sonic fury at the Fire In The Mountains festival on July 25. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Blackfeet Nation's ancestral lands in Montana, the show wasn't just a milestone for the band; it served as a powerful platform for the Firekeeper Alliance, a non-profit committed to combating youth suicide in Indian Country.

This marks NEUROSIS's first new release in a decade, and with the lineup of Steve Von Till, Jason Roeder, Dave Edwardson, and Noah Landis, they’ve invited Aaron Turner of SUMAC and ISIS fame to join their ranks, adding a fresh intensity to their already formidable arsenal.

In a raw and revealing interview with The New Scene, Von Till opened up about the tumultuous period that led to the band’s silence and the eventual departure of co-founder Scott Kelly in 2019. “It was heartbreaking and devastating,” Von Till reflected, recounting the struggles of processing the ego death that came with their former member's actions.
