MASTODON Unleashes 'The Poisonous Weapons' Tour with DEAFHEAVEN and ALCEST
In a thunderous return to the road, Atlanta's own progressive metal titans, MASTODON, have announced their upcoming 'The Poisonous Weapons' tour. This nationwide trek will feature support from avant-garde metal purveyors DEAFHEAVEN and the ethereal French metal band ALCEST, kicking off on September 16 in Orlando, Florida, and culminating on October 24 in Dallas, Texas.
The announcement follows the release of MASTODON's emotionally charged single, 'Your Ghost Again', a track that serves as a poignant reflection on the band's recent personal losses, including the untimely passing of friend and former bandmate Brent Hinds and drummer Brann Dailor's mother. In a heartfelt discussion shared with journalist J. Bennett, Dailor described the song's themes of memory and grief, stating, 'When we were in the studio recording, I kept seeing Brent... I'd see him on my right holding the guitar because that's where he'd usually be.' This raw vulnerability permeates 'Your Ghost Again', showcasing MASTODON's unique ability to channel profound emotion into their music.
