TCOR Radio Supports Local Metal With First Annual May Metalfest
TCOR Radio is set to launch the 1st Annual May MetalFest to support local Oregon metal bands from all over the State. Five (5) venues over ï¬ve (5) nights with twenty (20) unsigned metal bands split between each show. The event was created speciï¬cally to honor
the local metal music scene and rebuild a genre in Portland that has produced many successful acts, events, and venues for over four decades. Creator and producer of The Chronicles Of Rock Radio, Rod Black explains: "You can’t have a local rock and metal radio station without supporting unsigned acts right out of your back yard. We provide National content on TCOR Radio that covers a worldwide audience but it all starts locally. 33% of our format on TCOR Radio backs up that commitment to ï¬ghting for the unsigned underdog.
May MetalFest was created to support a viable genre that exists in Portland and surrounding cities in Oregon. We appreciate what Music Fest Northwest and many other entities have done. We at TCOR Radio simply want to carry that torch, but on a completely local level. We plan to make May MetalFest a yearly event that gets bigger and bigger and bigger. May is the perfect run before Summer!"
TCOR Radio has brought aboard Alameda Brewing Company, Forbidden Body Art, Willamette Week, Razor’s Edge Screen Printing, Kolor-Werx, Victory Records, and Roaring Lion Energy Drink as ofï¬cial sponsors of the 1st Annual May MetalFest in 2012. Each sponsor realizing the potential of an event that not only supports local metal music, but local business as well.
The ï¬ve (5) night, ï¬ve (5) venue event will also showcase some of Portland’s best live music outlets.
