Arch Enemy’s Daniel Erlandsson Says Fan Reaction to New Singer Lauren Hart Has Been ‘Overwhelming’
Arch Enemy drummer Daniel Erlandsson says fans have responded extremely positively to the band’s new vocalist, Lauren Hart, following her recent debut with the group.
Speaking in a new interview, Erlandsson said the reaction to Hart joining the band has exceeded expectations. According to the drummer, the response from fans since the lineup change has been “overwhelming,” noting that the band was pleasantly surprised by how quickly audiences embraced the new frontwoman.
Hart was officially announced as the band’s new singer in February 2026, replacing longtime vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. Her arrival marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Swedish melodic death metal group, which has featured several prominent vocalists throughout its history.
Erlandsson also commented on White-Gluz’s departure, explaining that the split felt like a natural progression rather than a dramatic break. While he emphasized that the band’s time with White-Gluz was successful and productive, he suggested that circumstances eventually reached a point where continuing together no longer made sense. In his view, the transition happened organically and allowed both sides to move forward with new creative opportunities.
White-Gluz had served as Arch Enemy’s frontwoman for more than a decade after joining the band in 2014, recording several albums with the group before leaving in late 2025.
Hart, who previously fronted the metal band Once Human, has already begun performing live with Arch Enemy and recording new material. Her debut with the group included performances on their 2026 tour and the release of the single “To The Last Breath,” which introduced fans to the band’s updated lineup and musical direction.
