Endwell, Thick as Blood, Lionheart, Venia to Play Lynn, MA September 22
SEPTEMBER 8, 2009 – Lynn, Massachusetts will play guest to one of the biggest local metal/hardcore shows this year, as "The Raising Hell Tour" comes to town on September 22, 2009 at the Lynn Arts Center.
"Four nationally-known metal/harcore bands will join forces with five top local bands for a night to remember," says Adam Graves, Founder of CRR Entertainment of Boston, which partnered with the Love As Arson agency to bring the Raising Hell Tour to the area.
The four headlining acts are:
• Thick as Blood, a hardcore metal band from Miami, FL, which recently released their second album, "Embrace" on the Eulogy label.
• San Francisco Bay area-based Lionheart, which records on Stillborn Records in the U.S. "The Will To Survive" album will be released in 2010 in Europe by I Scream Records.
• Hard-hitting Endwell, based in Queens, New York, whose album, "Consequences", was recently released by Mediaskare Records.
• Venia, a Minneapolis-based hardcore band whose message recalls the heyday of "Spirit-filled hardcore." Their album "Frozen Hands," was released this summer on Blood and Ink Records.
Also appearing are several top local bands, including:
• Vallon (North Shore Area, MA), a local favorite whom have played shows on the Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour, the Music as a Weapon Tour, and the Vans Warped Tour over the past two years.
• Desiccation (Concord, MA), which played shows with the 2009 Music As a Weapon Tour with Killswitch Engage and Suicide Silence, and the 2009 Summer Slaughter Tour with Nechrophagist, Born of Osiris and Winds of Plague.
• Lakeside Avenue (Medford, MA), regulars in the local circuit who combine the hard-hitting riffing of The Acacia Strain with two-steps reminiscent of traditional Boston hardcore
• Seize Today (Avon, MA), a tech-metal act that blends the musical virtuosity of The Faceless with a three-way guitar attack and the heavy low-end of Impending Doom.
• Last Run (Malden, MA), a melodic metalcore band that combines heavy riffs with an undeniable vocal intensity and honest lyrics.
"Massachusetts has become a breeding ground for metal and hardcore success stories," says Graves. "Bands such as Killswitch Engage, Unearth, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Diecast, Within The Ruins, Have Heart, and The Carrier began here. In bringing the 'Raising Hell Tour' to Lynn, we aim to showcase a new generation of both nationally-known and local up-and-coming bands."
The Raising Hell Tour will be in the area on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the Lynn Arts Center, 25 Exchange Street in Lynn, MA, 01901. The venue is one block from the Lynn Station on the Newburyport/Rockport commuter rail line which runs to and from North Station, Boston. Parking is free and plenty of space is available next to the venue.
