About Monument Of A Memory
New Jersey’s Monument Of A Memory pride themselves on making eclectic, heavy, and original music. In the words of bassist Joshua Correa, “you will never hear the same song twice from us.â€
Their music takes inspiration from a variety of genres, from death metal, to thrash, and melds it together with a modern, vigorous edge. While their influences are varied, including bands like The At The Gates, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive, Monument Of A Memory manage to find their sound and keep it consistently exciting.
Since releasing their groundbreaking debut EP Dreamwalker in 2015, they have proven that there truly is no rest for the wicked. Monument Of A Memory spent the last year developing a cult following across the tri-state area, playing some of the East Coast’s most infamous rock venues alongside such acts as The Devil Wears Prada, Battlecross, Upon A Burning Body and Motionless In White, all while writing and recording another banger of an album.
Don’t let this fresh-faced band, with youngest member, vocalist Tommy Gehringer being barely 18 years old, fool you. These metallers have talent beyond their years, and their upcoming Summer 2016 EP Catharsis is a testament to that fact.
In true DIY spirit, all of Monument Of A Memory’s music has been recorded and mixed in guitarist Kevin Chapilliquen’s home studio. Their music and energetic live performances created such a stir in the scene, that Monument Of A Memory were handpicked by the legendary engineers at Sterling Sound (Pantera, Suicide Silence, Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot) for mastering on both EPs.
