New York's Scar Culture have officially disbanded. Formed in 1997 (and originally known as Scrape), the group released an album with Century Media Records. According to the band, "Adversity, line-up changes and other obstacles have made continuing Scar Culture in good conscience impossible. Rather than cheapen the accomplishments and memories of what Scar Culture has meant, we have decided to let go."

As for band members, they have moved on to other endeavors. Vocalist Roman Garbacik is now running a metal label called Spare Change Records. The label's first release, from Connecticut's Torn Asunder, will hit streets late this summer. Garbacik is also interested in some possible musical projects. You can email him here. Meanwhile, guitarist John Conley is playing with Long Island's The Ancient Enemy. Finally, bassist Frank Cannino has started a band called Five Year Stare. Meanwhile, drummer Duke Borisov has "retired his drumsticks."
