Obituary Frontman Checks In From the Road
OBITUARY frontman John Tardy has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"Where do I start! Without Internet for the last several days, I have not been able to update the website and I am now a bit lost. We have been to Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Russia - both Moscow and St. Petersburg! This was our first time in all these countries and if I would have known how much support we were gonna get from the fans, we would of never have waited 20 years to get there! Thank you all for coming out!
"Today we are in Belgium for the Graspop Festival and it is going to be sick! We wanted to do this last year but it just didn't work out, so we appreciate the invite this year! They have a great line up with bands like GUNS N' ROSES, ALICE IN CHAINS, DANKO JONES and our good friend JON OLIVA! After flying to our first 9 shows, it is nice to finally have a bus to call home!
"We spent 8 hours in a van from Romania to get to [the Bulgarian] show, after only a few hours of sleep, but we made it and it was all worth it! These guys were going crazy! It must have been over 100 degrees in that club...felt like Florida...but it didn't stop anyone from going off! We look forward to getting back!
"St. Petersburg was a beautiful city. We did not get enough time in either Moscow or St. Petersburg and we really would like to go back and see more! Two great shows!!!!"
