Figure stands in silence

Piercing gaze with an evil smile

Sending shivers down my spine

From the darkness closing in

A quick look and haunting pause

Something dripping down its claws

Eye to eye with terror

Smell of hate makes blood run cold

There’s no escape, there’s no repose

1 Many a time have I lost my mind

Met with forbidden signs

Dark and obscure designs

Not meant for mortal eyes

Whispers echo in the empty streets

Lost in the haze of doubt

Chasing ghosts throughout

I still carry on

Scarlet glare at the break of dawn

Another sleepless night

I’m paralyzed with fright

Of what lies beyond

Sullen faces dragging all around

They look but cannot see

Is this a dream I dreamed

Or reality?

Throne of lies

Upon which sit

Those who stole the night

Gleaming eyes

Savage beasts let

Out into the wild

And we are on the run
