Lying awake in

A dream that tore me from my sleep

A presence lurking

Surrounding me, taking my breath

Eyes call horror

My voice stays mute – my flesh petrified

Trapped inside myself

Only the fear shows me I’m alive

Try to catch sight of

What lies beyond and what’s to be found

An incarnate nightmare?

Or am I at mercy of my own mind

Eyes ablaze in the darkness

Reveal the terror so clear

Feel the pressure is rising

As the creature draws near

And the weight of the world comes down on me

How long will it take?

To see there’s only one way to break free

Summon all powers to banish

What lies on my chest

Suddenly all nightmares vanish

Haunting questions infest:

Have you ever really been awake?

D’you ever dive into the dream?

Could you ever escape the coma in between?
