Somewhere between now and then,
Shoreline turned to glass in nameless fire.
Below the surface lies,
All the remains of our past life.
This mirror stretches on into the dawn,
Our shadows dim.
Break through this liquid sand,
Turn the hourglass on its end again
Creatures trapped on the shore,
Under glass they wait -
Bodies incandescent,
Shining through the waves
Our shadows on the seawall,
Our ashes on the bay
Our ruins floating seaward,
Soon to evaporate
Sunfire drown
Raise our twilight
Into the night
Before new dawn
