Nothing Shall Remain Lyrics

They stood expectant and stared

The few that remained

As a peace was declared

The defiant were gone

Wretched corpses that lay on the ground

Torn and screaming in fear

Soon the questions arose

As sanity returned

At the sight they beheld

What could they ever say?

What could they ever do?

To make right all the infinite wrongs

Earthquakes silence all the screams

Open up and bleed

Take away the pain

Oceans rise and wash away

The scars that will not heal

Nothing shall remain

And as they tried to go on

Forge hope from the debris

A deadly silence fell upon them all

Something was terribly wrong

The sky turned black

And they could feel the hairs stand on end

Earthquakes silence all the screams

Open up and bleed

Take away the pain

Oceans rise and wash away

The scars that will not heal

Nothing shall remain

Was this an aftermath

Or calm before the storm?

And in answer to Mankind’s desperate hopes

The Prophecy became horrible reality

The Earth’s crust started trembling

What little remained of Man’s prosperity

Buildings, cities, his artificial riches and comforts

All were devoured by his Mother’s gaping maw

And where she had split open

Her molten bowels started spilling out

Those few who still persevered, lived only to see the floods

As the oceans rose to quench Her terrible thirst

Water crashed against molten stone

And the eternal mountains finally fell

What once was, is no more

Nothing remains
