There was a day the sun had died - A fiery ring on blackened skies The monarchs of this world decide - To kill its light and all subsides Winter followed with endless rain - The cattle flocked and pain remained The wolves have gathered with iron will - Feast on the sheep in violent thrill Their eyes’ are blind their mouths are shut, torn wounds still shed the victim’s blood Are we born to see the light? Or will we die by one man’s might? The vulture in its glory flies – its wings and shadow cloud the skies The morning gone, the day has died –Dusk has come, dark is the night! Kneeling and praying – all is said and done Light up the sky and all will die as one! No one will carry all our loss Embodied lies nailed to the cross Then came the day, the end was near – their bodies choked with endless fear Come flood! Come fire! Endless night! Let all the pyres light the sky! A purgatory human made – decisions made and still too late The dying’s wishes stay unheard – their shattered voices dead to our ears The flood hit land in southern skies – the waves crushed everything in sight The plague that followed then remained – in our hearts and souls restrained We kept illusions hanging high and painted them with blood so bright Our life is gone, the earth has died –Death has come, dark is the night! Kneeling and praying – all is said and done Light up the sky and all will die as one! No one will carry all our loss Embodied lies nailed to the cross
