Thunder Is the Angels Threnody Lyrics

Dark stygian skies obscured the Elysian fields

And the cold came to haunt this paradise

The angels and the blessed who resided here

Had a premonition, there was evil in the air

A gloom was cast over their joyful domain

As thunder rolled the skies as the angels threnody

The tunes of a requiem leaked from the Empyrean

Flames arrived and the angels caught fire

Their wings got scorched by the black firestorm

The heavenly choir choked in the flames

And the trumpets sounded to herald the horned

On earth the humans in anxiety gazed

Towards the clouds and the fading sun

The children asked their mothers and fathers

Who had no answers to what took place

Was it an eclipse that shrouded the sun

And choked the light that used to be

Then black thunderclouds released its wrath

A rain of blood drowned the earth

At the site of paradise a war raged violently

All the angels died by the hands of demons

Like sheep ripped by wolves the angels were torn

Plucked of all their feathers, salt rubbed in their wounds

All grace was gone and light was no more

A trident was thrust through the heart of "God"

His kingdom had passed, his servants were dead

Thunder rolled the skies as the angels threnody

The flames died down as the battle was over

An entity arrived from the Empyreans gates

The head of their god adorned his sceptre

And in triumph we chanted and hailed

We kneeled down Before the master's feet

His faithful ones dubbed as his knights

His kingdom had come, our thrones appeared

"God" was dead and the true lord reigned

As a black sun rose by a gesture of his hand

His unsunned kingdom started to take form

We listened in awe to the words that he spoke

Our darkest lord who reclaimed his throne

I am the one who was before, and I shall always be

I have reclaimed my throne from the usuper-god

I closed the gates behind me, nailed them shut forever more

No light shall again be allowed to shimmer the least onto my world
