My lips part, no words fall

The sea holds a face unknown

I stand between a world and void

Nothing feels safe

Sails rise, the air stills

The keel cuts a silver path

Horizon swallows me whole

I am at sea

The wind unveils a shifting sign

A breath held tight

The sea reveals no friend to find

No guiding sight

Waves start to grow and howl

The deep calls my name aloud

Clouds blur the shadowed sun

Will I endure?

The storm has come, it’s locking me

I will not break

The swell can drown but can’t unmake

The oath I take

No matter the pain, no matter the fear

I watch the world I knew fall down

The sea and I have learned to share

Leaving the safe harbor ground

Faith as a breath for life in feats of the doubt

The storm I faced became the truth I gained

Time unfolds what I am

Eyes no longer look away

Now I walk beyond the line I once believed

Here at last I belong
