And it's piercing the skies

Its spires would shine in darkness

Beyond the clouds

Forbidden rebellious instincts

Are rising again

Creation of the human spirit

Is growing high into the air

Indeterminable collision

Barriers will fall under daring rush

Providential decision

The black colossus is doomed to tumble down

That tower now in ruins

All traces are gone

Eternal sands have devoured

Remains of the walls

All blocks of firmest stone

Have mouldered away

But someone will be building it over and over

Again and again

A daring challenge to the fate

Won't be lost for nothing

And everyone's erecting spires

Of his own Babylon tower

And though these towers will tumble down

But the new ones will rise

Eternal spiral with no end
