I ja syjdu ŭ niebyćcio…

Čarniejecca sažaju viečar.

Doždž bjecca ab chvali raki;

Hulaje, hudzie nad joj viecier,

Zavodzić, što ŭ poli vaŭki.

Spakojna mnie tut pad vadoju:

Zaloh ja la młyna na dnie;

Aprusia na koła rukoju, -

Młyn kazku staruju pačnie.

Kruhi zavirujucca žornaŭ,

Trasiecca chadyrna ściana;

A dumy - jak kołas biez ziornaŭ, -

Usio mianie ciahnie da sna.

Biaspamiatna koły pichaju,

Chilusia da dna hałavoj -

I ŭžo ja dramlu, zasypaju

Pad šum niepahody hłuchoj.

І я сыйду ў небыццё…

Чарнеецца сажаю вечар.

Дождж б'ецца аб хвалі ракі;

Гуляе, гудзе над ёй вецер,

Заводзіць, што ў полі ваўкі.

Спакойна мне тут пад вадою:

Залёг я ля млына на дне;

Апруся на кола рукою, -

Млын казку старую пачне.

Кругі завіруюцца жорнаў,

Трасецца хадырна сцяна;

А думы - як колас без зёрнаў, -

Усё мяне цягне да сна.

Бяспамятна колы піхаю,

Хілюся да дна галавой -

І ўжо я драмлю, засыпаю

Пад шум непагоды глухой.

And I shall pass into the oblivion...

The evening is darkening with soot

The rain is hitting the river waves

The wind's gowing, buzzing over it

It sings there' wolves in the field

I'm calm here under the water

I'm lying at the mill at the quiet

I'll lean on the waterwheel with my hand

The mill wil tell me the tale

The sircles of milestones will go to the round dance

The wall is barely holding on

And thoughts like an ear without grains

Everything pulls me to sleep

Selflessly I shove the waterwheels

I bend my head to the quiet

And I'm already napping asleep

Under the sound of monotonous rain
