Tārakā
Conceived with a sole purpose in mind
To destroy Indra and the Devas
To satiate his
Pitāmahi’s vengeance
Tārakā
The demon with resolute mind
In Tapas, immersed; to conquer universe
Brahma descends in admiration
Tārakā
Seeking the boon of immortality
Brahma refused, since whats created
One day, it has to perish
Tārakā
So crafty, he named his only Slayer, the wouldn't be born, son of Śiva,
Śiva in tapas for time undefined
And so he storms, destroying peace
Raiding, assaulting trilokas with ease
Indra Loka in tatters and seized
Indra dethroned and fled in grief
Indra
Seeking in anguish, the giver of the boon
To find a remedy, to immediately
Restore Dharma
Brahma
Assuring the remedy lies in the boon
Awaking Śiva from his tapas
Uniting Śiva Śakti
Om namaśivāya (2X)
Skanda…..
Ārumuga Vadivelā
Vanḍāyo emai kākaa
OM mandira thatthuvathai
Thagapannuke sonnāye
Receiving the Vel
With humility
From the divine Mother
Whetted by Buddhi
Broadened by Manas
Strengthened by Jnāna
Raising the Senas
With mighty Devas
Leading all fronts
Almighty Skanda
Tārakā in rage
Ahankāra embraced
Deploying billions of asuras to fight his war
The asuras on fire
Blazing the armies
Of Indra and Devas
Like trees on fire
But Skanda, unflinched
Hurling the Vel
Reproducing a rain
Of missiles down asuras
The battle was fierce
Like the battle of life
When thy fails to heed
The order of life
Tārakā is real
Power as steel
Overpowering our
Senses of moral
Ruthlessness
Become a virtue
When faced with
Moral adversities
Stay upright,
Like the Vel,
Eradicating
The values of Tārakā
Sūrasamhāram
Skandaa…..

Hail, the slayer of Tārakāsuraa
Glory to the Slayer of Tārakāsuraa
