An ill-starred struggle to feed

the inordinate sense that leaves one to seek

a dire faith in the highly praised three

Seeds sown by those who verily claim to see

the sights of eternal light

arousing the fervent words to recite

Heartened to light up the stake to respire

the purifying smoke to mute the entire

resonance of the resentful speeches

uttered by those who a god appeases

Building up the flames with ignorance

of a longed-for lifespan's reliance

Unspeakable sputter spat out from the fires

incinerating the mind that used to aspire

the warmth to twine the heart to god

A disastrous murmur in the heart of the pyre

that thwarts and wears down the useless desire

of a fire to him and a fire to burn within

Carried in the sin of self

but to merge with the devout thrum of Lucifer

and rephrase the bitter words of encouragement

towards the heart-rending enlightenment

Demeaned only to rise again

as a symbol of godhead's impotence
