The Tree Lyrics

A discovery was made

by chance by the world of science an organic piece of black

slow and smearing movements, hidden in a mountain

A fearless man

chosen by the cowards in command to step into the black hole

and investigate what treasures it would hold

And step he did, straight into the unknown gate

struck by a void, seeming endless but with one exception

Carried on in the dark beyond

ignored the creepy feeling that maybe this was wrong scavenger of the most appalling kind

didn’t mind disturbing whatever was growing here

Soon his flashlight pointed towards something unseen what occurred to be a strange upside down tree hanging from the branches was these gleaming crystals his first thought was to fill his backpack to the brim

as he picked his first dangling price a distant scream of terror echoed bothered by it but too greedy

with a smirk continuing his grabbing

He kept undressing the tree the scrupulous vile spelunker as something captured his eye the stone on top, greatest of all

Kept ascending to the top

not too careful, scraping bits of tender bark not too worried about the distant screams

that had manifested each time he took from the tree

Clawing as he climbed

he reached the stone of unknown kind ripped it from its nest

he felt so proud, no shreds of consciousness

But with his blind behavior he managed to crack the tree the upside root fell over and with it so did he

As he got back on his feet, slightly bruised he felt accomplished never mind the fucking tree, that ecological deformation

Carried on in the dark beyond

ignored the creepy feeling that maybe this was wrong scavenger of the most appalling kind

didn’t mind disturbing, no more growth here

started to walk back to the hole with his treasures

He thought of his return now rich and recognized

he entered through the gate with all the gems he found

standing there with total panic, everything was dead around him death had claimed all life existing, no more trees to climb
