to steal the sky.

Fingers are numb

Those rays of fire

outmatched by none.

Winter,

bring me the sun.

Clouds envelope and blind me.

Infinite light

I'm to blind to see,

give me my sight

for I long to be free.

Mad with despair

trapping hope in a cage.

Beaten,

robbed of my rage.

Halo of darkness,

like ghosts in a dream.

Luminance fading,

shadows creep up to me.

An old ritual

seizing the earth,

sacrificial offerings to insure rebirth.

Consuming my warmth,

tearing my soul,

smiling down at my scorn and leaves me so cold.

Constellations will find me,

reaches out and grabs through the dark.

Climbing to the top

of this frozen hell.

Night sky embraces me,

puts me under a spell.

A collage of light

observed from afar.

Escape,

I devour the stars.
