Far beneath the shrine

I sit here and wait

For a thousand years

In a state of despair

Waiting for the one

To come and end me

And hopefully once again

Restore the first flame

For many years i've tried

But many times i've failed

And all who i've trusted

Are no longer themselves

Whether it be physical

Or possibly mental

They no longer resemble

Their once past selves

As I silently sit here

The flame that's before me

Becomes a reflection

Of my consequences

For now I can see

What damage is done

And now I can see

What i'll soon become

The fire has now faded

I watch it die out

And just like my soul

There's no spark of life
