Slipping away

From reality’s grasp

Locked within a place

Forgotten to the world

Embracing this curse

Of the abyssal serpent

I began to utilize

It’s hidden powers

A flame

contained within

Burns away at my soul

I try to fight it

To extinguish it

My efforts remain

To be always

Kept in vain

This abandonment

Is all I’m left with

But no matter what

I’ll do what’s needed

My purpose

Will always stay

Forever unchanged

I shall use this flame

To purge all of those

who are bereft

of the grace of light
