Shadows shifting below

A darker fringe ahead

lost in the woods of death

No birds, no beasts in here

Wandering aimlessly

Choking upon my fear

Can't scream for help

Silently walking alone

A path I have never seen

Waiting for voices to call

The quiet encompasses all

Shortness of breath snuffs me out

The ground has an undertow

And through it, I'm alone

In the darkest night

Leaves cover the light

My words reach no ears

Clouded by fear

In my afterlife

With my murky sight

Air won't touch my lungs
