Part: I The Birthing Crypt Lyrics

Album: Epiales

Awakened.

My eyes have been sealed in the dust of an old tomb

With no recollection of how I ended here

Still I recognize the smiling shadows that welcome me into this long

abandoned home

But they speak no tongue that I know

And only murmurs and whispers dance in the furthest corners of these

cavernous halls

And limping through the winding and bending corridors of this castle

The fixtures, the paintings, discarded tomes

All feel like they have had their place in my life

But time has torn them from me

Leaving a nebulous void between us

Finding myself before a massive crumbling staircase leading up to dormant

Mammoth doors.

They moan and grind against the pressure of my weight

Yhis weary centuries old beast gives way

My hands they land upon the supple ground around me

I find the air thick in the smells of the forest

The moonlight washes over the trees

And far off a spark of life through the foggy windows of a homestead

People merry, dance and sing

I cannot help but think this is the best moments of their lives

I cannot contain myself

Crawling my way through I wish to join

But happiness is fleeting

Shrieking erupts and faces turn sallow

And all who were merry suddenly like roaches scatter

All abandoned save one

Breathing was labored and the sound of fluids spewed with every gasp

A low rumbling building in the chest cavity

The earth stood still

And its eyes were laid upon me
