The Gargoyle Lyrics

Fortess of silence

Cold stormy night

An abyss covering

The realms of the twilight

Molded walls

Black towers

Beside the gates

Rising

The statue watches

With wing of stone

Unfold in the rain

Between the fog

Grotesque creature

Of the dark world

Prince who fell

In eternal spell

Immortal in rock

Condemned to the altar

Forever support

In painful sorrow

Heart of marble

Enclosed in hardness

Eyes of the beast

Being from the darkness

The woman comes closer

Through the hills

She watches the statue

In from of it

She kneels

The red eyes opened up

Scrutinizing the place

A thunder bursts

Lighting the face

She brought a rose

Black like the night

Under the sculpture

She cried at last

The gargoyle cracks

And then it brocke

From within the prince

The eternal spell

He brocke

Now he could love her

Under a candlelight

Inside the gallery

he swore his love

But the enchaintment

Is back again

Tonight

He returned to altar

And she on his feet...

Died of sorrow.
